Calabogie Peaks is looking for motivated and hardworking individual to join our outdoor operations team. As an Outdoor Operations Associate, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the resort’s outdoor facilities, contributing to an exceptional experience for our guests. For the right candidate, this position offers the potential to grow into an apprenticeship to become a Lift Mechanic, a crucial role in the ski resort industry. As a Lift Mechanic, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of ski lifts, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently.

Primary Responsibilities

Winter:

  • Support the lift operations team in maintaining and operating ski lifts, ensuring
    guest safety and efficient operations.
  • Become a Lift Mechanic apprentice and become certified to work on and maintain
    chairlifts
  • Assist in snow removal (walkways, roads and parking lot). Potential to graduate
    to mountain snow grooming, and the maintenance of ski trails.
  • Safely operate and maintain resort equipment, including snowblowers, plow
    truck, skid steer, shovels, and other tools.

Summer:

  • Be part of the team that maintains the golf course, where you will learn about turf
    management
  • Perform general groundskeeping duties, including landscaping, and maintaining
    the overall cleanliness of resort property.
  • Assist with basic repairs and maintenance of resort facilities, including
    lodges, facility buildings, and public areas.
  • Help set up and break down for resort events, including arranging seating, setting up
    equipment, and ensuring all areas are clean and presentable.
  • Provide friendly and helpful assistance to guests, answering questions, giving
    directions, and helping with basic needs.
  • Work closely with other departments, including lift operations, guest services,
    and housekeeping, to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to lift heavy objects, while being enthusiastic about working in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-oriented attitude. Ability to work well with others and follow instructions from supervisors/manager.
  • Effectively interacts with guests and team members in a positive manner.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Prior experience in outdoor operations, maintenance groundskeeping, property, and equipment maintenance is a plus but not required.

Education:

  • High school diploma is an asset.
