Every winter on the slopes of Calabogie Peaks our Higher Education Program turns the 3 R’s” into the “3 E’s” -- education, exercise and exhilaration. As an organizer of a ski and snowboard day, you can work with us to implement healthy lifestyle changes in your students. Not only is carving turns a great way to stay fit (a child skiing for one hour will burn off 288 calories) but it is something Canadians participate in well into their retirement years.

Here is what Calabogie can offer you and your students:

  • Affordable rates – only $30 for a lift, lesson and rentals
  • The longest green run in Ontario and the Gatineaus
  • A free chaperone lift ticket for every 10 students

Season Pass Incentive

Come for a day – ski for the season!

If your school brings 75 students you will receive a free season pass for Calabogie Peaks Resort (estimated retail value $540). That pass will have your school name on it and can be used interchangeably for any one you designate. The user simply has to bring the pass with them and present it to the Adventure Centre where they will hand it in for the day and receive a lift ticket. Bring 150 students and receive two free season passes. Keep in mind these are your passes – you could even raffle them off as a fundraising initiatives.

The fine print: Your school will receive your pass the day you arrive for your trip – if you would like to get your hands on it earlier you can pay a deposit on your trip for the value of the season passes – and that value will be taken off your total bill and is non-refundable in the event of cancellation of your trip. Race events do not qualify for this incentive.

Good Stories from School Groups!

Here's a good read! A testimonial from Gary Giller, Teacher and leader of the Outdoor Adventure Program at Sharbot Lake High School (January 10, 2007)

In a winter which has dealt the ski industry in Eastern Canada an extremely tough blow, Calabogie Peaks Resort has done a terrific job of coping with the circumstances. When other ski hills have had to shut down due to a lack of snow, Calabogie’s snow making team has done a great job of creating and maintaining an impressive snow base on selective runs that has allowed is skiers to enjoy excellent snow conditions. I am very impressed at how Calabogie has managed its snow making capabilities to produce optimal skiing conditions under difficult circumstances.

I am also extremely impressed by the cordial and efficient staff that work at the resort, by the quality of the equipment and the facility and by the affordable packaging that it offers to school groups and the public. The Calabogie ski school staff are also to be commended for the outstanding job that they do at introducing newcomers to the skiing experience. The resort is well designed with a great beginner hill equipped with an easy to use conveyor lift to assist those learning to snowboard or ski.

I have been taking school groups on ski trips for 25 years and I am as impressed with the Calabogie experience as I have been with any of the resorts that I have visited.

Don’t let the present weather circumstances fool you. Calabogie Peaks is ready to help you and your group enjoy a great day on the slopes.
