I have heard a rumour…..

A lot of downhill mountain bikers have contacted us over the past few days, saying they heard a rumour that Calabogie Peaks Resort is discontinuing its DH Mountain Biking program. We apologize that you all had to go by rumours, and we were not able to get this statement to you before inaccurate information was made public. Please have a look at the attached document to get more details regarding the facts surrounding the probable discontinuation of the program in its current form.

Calabogie Peaks Resort Management is in contact with some key people of the local mountain biking community, to see if any of the difficulties surrounding the program can be resolved. If you would like to express your support for the program, please do so by signing one of the online petitions or sending an email to marketing@calabogie.com. Please do NOT send repeat emails to different recipients at the resort and please do not call. We do not have the resources to talk to all of you in person. Also please understand that we are not able to respond to those emails. We value your support of the mountain biking program and your opinions and sentiments matter to us.

Cross Country Trails Special:

Single and double-track trails
Currently there are two main trail systems at Calabogie Peaks Resort; The Peaks Village and Eagles' Nest Trail networks.

The Peaks Village trail system is made up of single & double track trails. Single track trials loop off of the existing nordic ski trail system. The technical ability required to meet the challenges of the single track trail system ranges from intermediate to advanced. Double track trails are fairly flat with a few gradual climbs ranging in technical difficulty from beginner to intermediate.

The Eagle's Nest trail system (not shown on map) is far more picturesque and challenging than the Peaks Village trails and known for it's scenic vistas from Eagle's Nest Escarpment. Technical ability required to tackle the Eagle's Nest Loop is intermediate to advanced.

The Race Loop which will also be the course for the Bonham & Co. Inc. Ontario Cup X-Country & Short Track events.
